The Indian Embassy in Cambodia celebrated the 74th Republic Day of India yesterday with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The celebrations at the Embassy premises commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Ambassador of India to Cambodia Dr Devyani Khobragade, followed by the singing of the National Anthem of India. The Ambassador read out excerpts from President Droupadi Murmu of India’s address to the nation. The President said that India is home to one of the oldest living civilisations and is called the mother of democracy.
