Visit to Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health

On 21 January 2016, H.E. Naveen Srivastava, Ambassador of India to Cambodia, visited Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CCAMH) at Chey Chumneas Hospital, Kandal province.  CCAMH is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.  India has been associated with this hospital since 1980s and has provided not only equipment but also deputed Indian doctors to assist Cambodian friends and help build the capacity.

In 2011-13, under the auspices of India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) Fund, a major expansion of the CCAMH was also undertaken.  A number of doctors and staff from CCAMH have spent time in India for training and their professional development in different institutions including the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-science (NIMHANS), Bangalore, National Institute of Mentally Handicapped (NIMH), Hyderabad, Spastic Society of Tamilnadu (SPASTN), Chennai and Abled Disabled All People Together (ADAPT), Mumbai.

Ambassador Srivastava felicitated all professionals who were trained in India, starting with Mr. Rattana, Executive Director of Caritas Cambodia, who had participated in a year-long course at the National Institute of Social Communication and Research, New Delhi.
