Embassy of India Celebrated ITEC Day

Embassy of India, Phnom Penh celebrated ITEC Day on 26th March, 2018 at the The Great Duke Hotel to commemorate Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme of Government of India with the objective to share the experience and build network of ITEC/ICCR alumni. Programme was attended by prominent ITEC/ICCR Alumni who are part of several Government Ministries/Organizations and engaged in nation building in Cambodia. Dr. Sao Chivoan, Secretary of State for Rural Development, Kingdom of Cambodia and President of Cambodia India Alumni Association (CIAA) graced the event as Chief Guest and with his encouraging remarks.

Opening remarks with highlights of ITEC Programme and ICCR Scholarship Programme were made by Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Cambodia Ms. Manika Jain. In order to enhance Cambodian participation in ITEC capacity building programme through training, she indicated that programmes and formats as per requirement of Cambodian officials are being proposed to be conducted so as to ensure that the participants accrue maximum benefit from the training they undergo. In addition, Mrs. Eat Sophia, Under Secretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Prof. Keo Chea, Dean, University of Cambodia and many other prominent ITEC/ICCR Alumni attended the event and shared their experience.

Many prominent ITEC alumni came on stage and shared their experience while they were in India to attend various scholarships and ITEC training programmes. Cambodian and Indian cultural groups performed their classical dance forms. ITEC/ICCR Alumni had fruitful informal interaction on diverse issues pertaining to two countries and to further strengthen bilateral relationship.
