Seminar on India-ASEAN cooperation

Ambassador of India to Cambodia Naveen Srivastava delivered the keynote address at a seminar on India-ASEAN cooperation organized by the International University in Phnom Penh. In his remarks, Ambassador Srivastava highlighted the initiatives taken by India under the Act East policy to strengthen its relations with ASEAN member states and in particular, with Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. He also outlined opportunities for further collaboration in the development and training of human resources and noted that India provided 25 scholarships annually for Cambodian students to pursue higher education in India and also, short term training courses under ITEC programme. Till now, more than 1200 Cambodian friends have availed of these training programmes in India. The Vice President of International University in his remarks recalled the fruitful cooperation between the University and Indian institutions and looked forward to further collaboration particularly in tele-medicine.
