Reception of the 65th Republic Day of India, 27 January 2014

Ambassador of India Dinesh K. Patnaik hosted a Reception at Hotel InterContinental in Phnom Penh, on 27 January, 2014, to mark the 65th Republic Day of India. H.E. Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, was the guest of honour. More than 300 people attended the reception, which was graced by Ministers and senior government officials of Cambodia, local dignitaries, academics, businessmen, media persons and prominent Indians as well as members of the Diplomatic Corps. Welcoming the guests, Ambassador Dinesh Patnaik characterised today’s India as a young, aspirational, vibrant, multicultural and largest democracy. Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hor Namhong in his congratulatory remarks referred to India as ‘a friend and well-wisher of Cambodia’ and highlighted the multi-faceted relations between India and Cambodia and the deepening of trade & economic relations and also expressed Cambodia’s keen desire to deepen bilateral relationship with India for mutual benefit.
